Scheduling and Safety Policies

Pre-appointment details

  • Prior to booking please acknowledge having read the cancellations and refund policies, sign the waiver form, and complete your intake form.

  • Appointments may be booked up to 24 hrs before hand or with approval. Payment is due in full at the time of booking. Accepted methods of payment include: Credit cards, ATM cards, Apple Pay and Peer to Peer Payment Apps (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App -which which save you 3% as they don’t incur processing fees! Just call to arrange before booking.) or cash if paid in advance.

  • Please Note: Most appointments require that an initial consultation be booked and completed at least 24 hrs. before your scheduled training session.

    Scheduling Package Appointments

  • If purchasing a package you make schedule individual sessions right away or come back later to do so. If you do at a later time, log back into Pocket Suite and go to purchase a single training session (not the package offering). The session will show as a $0 charge before you book and then be automatically deducted from your package count.

Service Areas & Travel Fees

PJH Dog Training | NYC proudly serves all neighborhoods across New York City—including the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Hell’s Kitchen, Chelsea, West Village, East Village, and beyond. Whether you’re dealing with puppy obedience, reactivity, or leash manners, our reward-based programs are designed to meet the unique needs of city dogs and their owners.

Clients who want service in Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and New Jersey will be required to pay an extra travel/time expense or can travel to me at the regular rate.

Travel time fees

  • 0–30 min = $0

  • 31–45 min = $25

  • 46–60 min = $50

  • 60+ min = $75–$100

Cancellation policies/Late Arrivals

  • Appointments (other than group classes) may be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hrs in advance without loss of payment.

  • Cancellations <24 hrs and no call/no shows will forfeit entire prepayment or deduct one session from your package.

  • Cancellations approved by both parties due to inclement weather or other circumstances will incur no fee and will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience.

  • Cancellations for Group Classes are not refunded but may be made up by booking a private session for an additional fee (fees vary).

  • Late arrivals are ok - we live in NYC right? However, the group classes and private sessions must end at the same time.

Training Session Expiration & Reactivation Policy

  • At PJH Dog Training, our goal is to provide timely and effective training solutions that help you and your dog achieve lasting success. To ensure consistency and prevent behavioral issues from worsening due to delayed training, all training sessions must be used within a set timeframe.

Expiration Policy

  • All private training sessions and packages expire 3 months (90 days) from the date of purchase.

  • Clients are responsible for scheduling and attending their sessions within this timeframe. Unused sessions will be forfeited once expired.

Reactivation Policy

  • If a session or package expires, clients may reactivate unused sessions for a fee of 25% of the original session price per session reactivated.

  • Reactivation requests must be made within 3 months of expiration. After this period, expired sessions cannot be reinstated.

  • Reactivated sessions must be used within 30 days of reactivation.

Additional Notes

  • No refunds or credits will be issued for unused or expired sessions.

  • Scheduling flexibility is available, but it is the client's responsibility to book sessions within the designated period.

  • If you anticipate scheduling conflicts, please notify us in advance so we can help you make the most of your training package.

By purchasing a training package or single session, clients agree to these terms. If you have any questions about this policy, feel free to reach out to us.

Aggressive Dogs

  • All dogs must be friendly and reasonably quiet to be in group classes.

  • Please let me know if there is any history of aggression to humans or other dogs before class begins because there may be more appropriate training possibilities I can offer.

  • Aggressive, overly loud dogs will be asked to attend private training sessions rather than group classes.

  • All dogs can be aggressive, it’s absolutely fine, let’s work together!

Sick Dogs

  • All dogs must be in good health with no obvious symptoms of illness including: Diarrhea, coughing, discharge from nose or eyes etc.

  • Please call to cancel any immanent appointments ASAP.

  • Last minute cancelations <1hr may still be charged a fee at the discretion of the Dr. Hernandez.

  • Cancelled appointments should be made up ASAP as to not disrupt the training flow.

  • Dogs found to be sick at/after drop off will be sent home immediately. Class will be refunded or rescheduled at the discretion of Dr. Hernandez.
