PJH Dog Training is based on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The extended area service fee isn’t a travel charge — it’s a door-to-door service. Your certified trainer comes to your Brooklyn or Queens block on a reserved weekly slot, so you train where your dog actually lives instead of commuting to Manhattan. It’s added transparently at booking and applies per appointment.

A reserved door-to-door visit from a PhD-level, CPDT-KA certified, force-free trainer; training in your dog’s real home, building, and neighborhood where the behavior actually happens; and a protected weekly slot on our outer-borough route. You get the exact same program our Manhattan clients get — delivered to you.

In most cases, yes. Even with the extended area service fee added, the all-in cost for a PhD-level, CPDT-KA certified, force-free program typically remains competitive with — and often below — other in-home trainers in NYC, many of whom charge premium rates without the same credentials. Yes. Sessions at our Manhattan locations, and in-home visits within Manhattan, don’t carry the extended area service fee. If you can come to Manhattan — or you live here — you book at standard rates. The extended area service fee only applies when we bring the program to you in Brooklyn or Queens.

No. Virtual training is available any day of the week with no extended area service fee, from anywhere. It’s a great way to start sooner, handle handler-skill work between visits, or work with us regardless of borough.

Brooklyn and Queens in-home visits run on a dedicated weekly route so we can serve them well without diluting Manhattan availability. Only a small number of outer-borough slots open each week, so booking early is the reliable way to secure your preferred date.
